When we confronted Mark, he finally confessed. He had a daughter with Tania and had hidden her existence from Lauren for three and a half years. Tania had recently learned about Lauren’s pregnancy and demanded that Mark acknowledge their daughter. When she threatened to expose him, Mark panicked.
Mark admitted he had changed the gender result and cake to make Tania believe Lauren was carrying a girl. He hoped she would stop threatening him. Instead, she had found another way to expose his secret. Lauren then revealed that she had already seen a message from Tania on Mark’s phone the night before.
Lauren removed her wedding ring. She told Mark that she had endured every miscarriage and treatment believing they were facing everything together. “Standing beside me isn’t the same as being honest with me,” she said. She left with me while Mark stayed elsewhere.
