A BIKER CAME TO MY WIFE’S GRAVE EVERY SINGLE WEEK, AND FOR MONTHS

I couldn’t understand it. Emily had been a pediatric nurse, a church volunteer, and the kindest person I knew. She drove a silver minivan and considered ordering dessert before dinner rebellious. Yet this biker mourned her like she had been someone irreplaceable.

By the third month, curiosity turned into anger. One Saturday, I finally approached him. “I’m Emily’s husband,” I said. “I think it’s time you told me who you are.” He slowly stood, tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I never meant to make you uncomfortable. I only came here to say thank you.”

“Thank you for what?” I asked. He looked at Emily’s name. “Your wife saved my daughter’s life.” His name was Mike, a forty-seven-year-old mechanic and single father. His nine-year-old daughter, Kaylee, had leukemia.

Mike had sold his house and worked constantly, while his motorcycle club organized fundraisers. Still, he was $40,000 short. One day, overwhelmed and crying in a hospital hallway, Emily found him. She listened without judgment and told him, “Sometimes miracles happen. Don’t give up hope.”
