At twenty years old, my name is Olivia Mitchell. Riding motorcycles has been part of my life since the age of eight, when I would sit on the tank of my dad’s 1987 Harley Softail as he handled the controls. Others constantly warned us about the danger. In fact, when I was six, Mom walked out on us for that very reason, screaming on her way out that she refused to watch her daughter die on a motorcycle. While that bike meant everything to me, it paled in comparison to the man who showed me how to ride it. After Mom departed, Dad raised me all by himself—most people call him Hawk because of how closely he watches over everyone with his sharp eyes. While working construction on weekdays and riding with the Iron Guardians MC on weekends, he still managed never to miss a single milestone in my life. He was always there for every parent-teacher conference, school play, broken heart, and scraped knee.
