I felt nothing.

“They found evidence she received confidential information from Julian.”
“Did they know?”
“They claim they did not.”
“Do we believe them?”

Sarah opened a file.
“Victoria has retained counsel.”
“Smart.”
“She wants to cooperate.”
I stared at her.
“With us?”
“With investigators.”
“Why?”
“Because Julian lied to her too.”
That almost made me laugh.
“About what?”
Sarah looked at Caroline.
Then at me.
“He told Victoria that Vance Development would belong to him if you became incapacitated.”
I closed my eyes.

“He told her your marriage was essentially over.”

“He told her the trust could be dissolved.”
