It’s much easier to explain the reason afterward than to deal with an injury that could have been prevented.

Jellyfish Are One Possible Reason

One of the best-known reasons for a purple warning is the presence of jellyfish.

Jellyfish aren’t necessarily aggressive animals.

Most encounters happen because a swimmer accidentally comes into contact with one.

The problem is that some jellyfish have specialized cells capable of delivering venom when triggered by contact.

The result can range from mild irritation to significant pain, depending on the species and the individual.

Some people experience redness, burning, itching, or raised marks on the skin.

More serious reactions can include difficulty breathing, severe pain, weakness, vomiting, or other symptoms requiring urgent medical attention.

The important point is that you don’t need to see a large number of jellyfish before taking a warning seriously.

Even a relatively small presence can create a risk.
