My name is Margaret. I’m 80 years old.
All my life, I believed that nothing could surprise me anymore at this age. I’ve raised three children, have seven grandchildren, and already have four great-grandchildren.
My husband, Robert, passed away twelve years ago.
After his death, I never remarried. My children visited me every Sunday, and my neighbors always said I was the happiest grandmother on our street.
But over the past six months, strange things had been happening to me.
At first, I noticed that my belly was getting bigger.
I assumed it was just part of getting older. Then I started wearing loose dresses because my old clothes no longer fit.
But soon, my belly became so enormous that even my neighbors started staring at me in disbelief.
One afternoon, my daughter-in-law, Sarah, came to visit.
She stared at my belly for a long moment before suddenly asking:“Mom, I’m sorry to ask, but have you seen a doctor recently?”
