Pickup trucks are frequently personalized with decals, logos, outdoor brands, sports symbols and regional designs.
The tailgate is especially noticeable because anyone driving behind the truck has a clear view of it.
That makes it an ideal place for a conversation-starting decal.
A simple white sticker also stands out dramatically against dark paint.
The contrast makes the unusual shape impossible to miss.
That may be why Grandpa noticed it in the first place.
He wasn’t necessarily looking for anything unusual.
The sticker simply caught his eye.
It Is Not a Secret Government Symbol
Whenever an unfamiliar symbol appears online, people naturally begin inventing theories.
Could it be a secret organization?
A military insignia?
A political symbol?
A warning?
A strange brand?
In this case, there is no reason to jump to any of those conclusions.
The shape strongly resembles an inverted outline of Washington State, and online sources discussing the same distinctive trend identify it that way.
